About me

I'm Niels. I teach programming and game development at a local community college, and make games in my spare time.
I mainly use Unity and C# for 2D, 3D, and console-based games. I've also worked with Game Maker Studio and Unreal Engine. I do not shy away from exploring new technologies.
I enjoy building gameplay prototypes around quirky elements. I have way too many ideas for my own good, so there is usually another concept waiting to be tried.
I’ve also used virtual reality in my teaching, including building escape-room prototypes with students.
I also co-organize Global Game Jam Groningen.
I've been into games since our first NES and 486 PC. In 2014 I started making my own. Outside games, I mostly use Python to solve practical problems.
My old hardware section has its own space for photos and project notes. You can find me as Tormbo on Twitch and YouTube.
